The firm responsible for building the support in 2008, has taken the tree away, and
is refusing to release it, claiming they're owed money for building the support by
the Anne Frank Tree Foundation. The Anne Frank Tree Foundation is blaming the
firm for the tree's collapse, and have probably labelled them as anti-Semitic.
Unfortunately the saga continues, one of several shoots from the tree is hoped to
be a big tree by 2044, for the centenary of Anne Frank's diary. Saplings have been
given to many Anne Frank Schools and other organisations. In 2009, 150 saplings
grown from it's chestnuts were donated to the Amsterdam Bos woodland park.
